Bio-Terrorism & the Water Supply

The September 11^th terrorist attack has created an urgent need for increased homeland security Evidence of unusual activities relating to water treatment plants, U.S. crop dusters, hazmat trucking licenses, bridges, airports, etc.. have all indicated the increased threat of future terrorist attacks. Two, the sizes of the tanks make it simpler for terrorists to mix in many of the solutions listed by the CDC as high probability biochemical or disease agents that could be used by terrorists

Third, the water has already left the water treatment plants, so with no further treatment or testing the first sign of a terrorist attack to the water system would be after several thousand citizens were already inflicted with severe illness, catastrophic health problems and widespread death.

LightGard’s fiber optic loop with pulsating light beam can provide round the clock peace of mind by helping to detect tampering or unauthorized opening of water storage hatches. LightGard allows authorized individuals to access the hatch. However, if a criminal breaks the light by cutting the fiber loop or opening the hatch, LightGard is designed to send a signal to the alarm system which can activate a local siren and/or immediately dispatch security to the exact location in seconds.

Chemical Drum, Explosives & Weapon Protection

LightGard Detectors can also be used for many other applications. LightGard has been used to help lock down storage drums filled with biological, chemical, explosive or nuclear materials. The fiber optic loop provides 24 hour alarm monitoring control of substances that can be used by terrorists, and alternatively can also be used to protect our own storage of vaccines and counter-terrorist equipment. LightGard’s fiber optic loop uses a beam of light and is non-electrical making this device particularly suited to protecting material in environments where you would not want to use any electrical current or voltage.
